Those eager for Hearst’s splashy debut of its great online experiment, seattlepi.com, are in for a big letdown. It’s Wednesday, March 18, the first day of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer’s digital age, and the Web site looks, well, like everyone who wasn’t staying packed up and left, and the few who were coming back are still …

Journalism on the Brink (Part I)

On February 27, 2009July 24, 2012 By Glenn NelsonIn Media Business2 Comments

Sparrow on a stick for #WildlifeWednesday. Soaring into the weekend on #FlybyFriday like ... It's a bird, it's a plane. It's #WildlifeWednesday. A #FoxyFriday cuteness alert! 🦊 We have done an important, essential thing at @seattleaudubon this week: we've gone down the path of removing "Audubon" from our name. Our namesake, John James Audubon, was an enslaver, anti-abolitionist, and purveyor of white-supremacist thinking and actions. We are not trying to erase him, because his art was a contribution people treasure, but we are saying that his name no longer fits what we want to be today and in the future -- which is inclusive, equitable, and antiracist. A song for #WildlifeWednesday. You name one ... Hello! Attention, please: Sensing some fox fatigue in the viewership. #FoxyFriday will resume next week. Another #WildlifeWednesday for looking back. Kit at play on #FoxyFriday 🦊 May we all be as adept at entertaining ourselves!
