Gee, Glenn...

I was there when "Golden" Rule set the rookie record...and I was seated to Voice's right in Largo, MD, at the Capitol Center (next to Greg Heberlein of the TIMES and John Engstrom of the PI) as Gus threw the ball in the air and Dennis Johnson jumped over the press table to give me a hugggg...much to Voice's shock.

I produced the broadcast that day and did stats. Later, I produced the post-game show in the Sonics' locker room. I got a shocked look from Voice as I reached over to take the mic out of his hand during an interview with JJ (as I recall), It was because I saw Joe Hassett and Jack Sikma coming up behind him, and each poured bottles of champaign over the unsuspecting Voice.
(He later thanked me for saving him from possible electrocution.)

I'll miss him.

Thanks, Glenn, for the wonderful recollections.
